IPTC’a annual Photo Metadata Conference is coming up on Thursday, 3rd September. We have a great lineup again this year.

This year we will be joined by Alexios Mantzarlis of Indicator Media, who put together the analysis of AI disclosure in social media that we promoted in March this year.

In addition we will have our first “Metadata Safari”, where we look at IPTC and other industry standards “in the wild”. We will have a series of short vendor demos showing how IPTC metadata, and related standards like C2PA, are implemented in real products that you can buy today. The full vendor lineup will be announced on Tuesday 18 August.

We will also have an update on the IPTC PHoto Metadata Working Group’s work over the past year, including an overview of some new properties which are proposed to be added to the standard at the IPTC Autumn Meeting which will be held in October.

In addition, IPTC Managing Director Brendan Quinn will unveil a tool we have been working on, showing real-world usage of metadata in images across the global news industry. The tool tracks IPTC/XMP, C2PA, AI opt-outs, CDN use and more.

Will your favourite news provider be at the top top of the ranking tables? Come along and find out. The PHoto Metadata Conference is online, free and open for anyone to attend.

The session will run from 15:00 to 18:00 UTC on Thursday 3rd September. Register now on our special event minisite.
