Abstract
The Event Ontology models news-worthy events and their relationship to news assets and stuff (simple entities) in the world.Design Notes
The Event ontology inherits fully from this public domain Event Ontology. The object property subEventOf is an rdfs:subPropertyOf event:sub_event with the addition of transitivity. Events also subClass Stuff and allowing Assets to be associated with Events. Events are considered compound entities in our domain (i.e. they are rich entities made through the relation of other entities, namely people, organisations, locations and things both tangible and intangible). Title give us a nice human-friendly label to which we can refer to the event such as 'World War 2', 'The Irish Troubles' or 'UK Budget 2012'.
