Erratum number | 1 |
Entry date | 2008-09-22 |
Issue | In IPTC Core 1.1 / Title property / User Notes: Many use the Title field to store the filename of the image, though the field may be used in many ways. Formal identifiers are provided by the Digital Image Id, or the Registry Entry, or the Supplier Image Id property of the IPTC Extension. The text in red refers to an early stage of the discussion - thus this non-existent property has to be removed from the notes. |
Planned correction | Will be deleted in the next release of the spec document |
Note |
Erratum number | 2 |
Entry date | 2008-09-22 |
Issue | In IPTC Extension 1.0 / Copyright Owner property / User Notes: The PLUS property highlighted in red was initially named Image Source, then upon IPTC request renamed to Image Supplier - this was not followed up in this note, has to be renamed to Image Supplier. |
Planned correction | Will be fixed in the next release of the spec document |

Erratum number | 3 |
Entry date | 2009-04-03 |
Issue | In IPTC Core 1.1 / Instructions / Definition: The last words of the Definition are "...or credits required when publishing." As version 1.1 has its Credit Line property back there is no ultimate need to express credits in instructions. |
Planned correction | This sequence of words will be replaced by: "... credits for publishing if they exceed the length of the IIM credit field" |

Erratum number | 4 |
Entry date | 2009-04-03 |
Issue | In IPTC Core 1.1 / Date Created / Definition: The last sentence of the Definition says: "If no time is given the value should default to 00:00:00". This is a) not a definition but an implementation guideline and b) ambiguous. |
Planned correction | Move the language to the Implementation Notes and rephrase it to: "If a software system requires explicit time values and no time is given by the Date Created property the software system should default the time to 00:00:00. If the software system does not require an explicit time value the time part should be left empty as it is." |

Issue | In IPTC Extension 1.0 / Digital Source File Type: Upon feedback it is recognized that the current specification for this property is unclear and ambiguous: - The listed CV terms are not **file** types - The intention behind this property is to express from which type of source the pixels were created - and this is not made clear by the definition. |
||||||||||||
Planned correction | 1) To deprecate the use of this property 2) To specify a new property as: Name: Digital Source Type Definition: The type of source of this digital image. Recommended CV: http://cv.iptc.org/newscodes/digitalsourcetype/ = Digital Source Type with values of:[updated 2009-04-08]
"digitalCapture" is the default value applied to the property. XMP Property Id: DigitalSourceType This should be specified in IPTC Extension 1.1 (June 2009) |
