controlled vocabulary

A set of concepts or entities, each of them identified by a code which is unique in the scope of this vocabulary. The vocabulary  is managed by some authority (e.g. a person or an organisation), employing some mechanism (e.g. an XML Schema, a Web page, an RFC, RDF+SKOS, or KnowledgeItem) to maintain this set.
